George Hurt, M.D.

Biography

Born in Lynchburg and attended Lynchburg Public Schools; graduating from E.C.Glass

High School.  George attended and completed UVA Medical School, receiving his

Neurosurgical training there.  He returned to Lynchburg in the early 70's and has been

practicing neurosurgery here ever since.  George has served on several non-profit boards

and is presently chairman of the Centra Foundation board.  He continues to practice

(part-time) with Central Virginia Neurosurgery, Inc.  He is married to Cindy Hurt, also a

native of Lynchburg, and they have two children--Martha & Adam.
