Giving Opportunities

United Way is an investment in local people that works in more ways than before. When you give financially to United Way of Central Virginia, you can be sure that your contribution reaches the most people with the most pressing needs. Whether it is mothers who require job training to better the lives of their children or the elderly who lack food and friendship, United Way of Central Virginia is the most effective way to strengthen our community.

Your gift can help close the gap between funds raised and the critical needs that remain unmet. Please give today!

Volunteer Opportunities

United Way also has many opportunities for you to help by giving of your time. There are many ways to volunteer with United Way. Have you ever thought about making presentations during the annual campaign? How about being on a review team where you go to a United Way agency and help determine their funding for the next year? These opportunities are just a sample of what you can do. For more information on volunteer opportunities contact Nikole Branch or visit Volunteer Match.

The returns for our community extend far beyond the millions of dollars raised through the annual campaign and the hundreds of individuals who volunteer every year. The true returns are in the thousands of lives touched by you through United Way. You have the power to make a difference!

Sponsorship Opportunities

We are constantly working to promote our United Way in order to gain community-wide support and exposure. With 1 out of every 2.2 people in our region benefiting from human service programs provided by United Way funded programs in 2005, the need is great! In order to effectively promote United Way and grow our donor base, we look to local businesses to sponsor campaign events such as Day of Caring and the Campaign Celebration as well as underwrite advertising opportunities. To learn more about how you or your business can help United Way grow and serve more people, please contact Dana Poleski at 455-6909.
