Work Hard, Play Hard!

The big event is finally here! You’ve managed to recruit, organize, and plan over the past few months, and now it’s time to pull everything together. Here’s some final advice and instructions for DOC 2008.

On DOC, volunteers will go directly to their project sites. Projects are generally scheduled from 8:30am until 12:30pm and from 1:00pm until 5:00pm, unless otherwise requested by an agency.

Join us for a free lunch at Lynchburg City Stadium from 11:30am-1:30pm. Work out the lunch schedule with the agency where you’re completing projects, so they know when you plan on eating. To RSVP your group for the lunch, please visit www.unitedwaycv.org/pages/rsvp_lunch.htm.

HAVE FUN! Make sure to learn about the agency you’re helping; take a tour or grab some brochures to read later. Take lots of pictures and send them to United Way. We’ll post only the most flattering photos on the website. Lastly, please remember how much you are helping the agencies and people of Central Virginia. Your caring power will help raise people to such great heights!
